The Chemist’s Tree
The Chemist (or Magic) Tree is scattered across the African savannah with some said to date back to the time of Christ. In traditional African medicine the baobab fruit is used to treat a number of diseases including asthma, fever and diarrhoea.
A comprehensive study in 2002 at the University Of Ferrara, Italy researched the benefits of the various components of the tree including the fruit, leaves, oil and bark. They concluded the fruit had a variety of health benefits due to its amazing range of antioxidants, flavonoids, amino acids, Vitamin C level, and range of vitamins and minerals, including calcium and thiamine.
They confirmed with its polyphenol and analgesic properties of the fruit helped a number of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, type 2 diabetes, and allergies, as well as heart disease (atherosclerosis) and cancer. Its other main benefit was for bowel problems – because due to its colon normalisation characteristics it was of tremendous benefit to anyone who suffered a sluggish bowel, constipation or diarrhoea.
What’s more with its high pre and pro-biotic properties it stimulates the good bacteria in the gut aiding proper digestion and with its high potassium levels is also great for the brain, muscle and nerve function as well as lowering blood pressure.
Our Baobab fruit contains a concentrated extract of fruit pulp.
